Hello to all! Excitement is rising here as we anticipate our visit to America. It has been 18 months and to be honest we are all ready for the trip! It will be quick, especially for Doug, as he is only in country until June 13. We fly out the 11th of May and spend our first week in Florida with my parents and Legoland of course! We are taking some of this time to just relax and regroup as a family and with our extended families, but we also want to have time with friends, speaking about our ministry, and refueling with our church family. (Mt. Airy, we look forward to worship on May 22). The boys and I will be staying until July 6 and then traveling back with my mom, sister, and niece.
I write this blog to let supporters know that our time is short and our speaking engagements are limited. If you would like to hear from us personally or within your church then we really need you to contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
I also write because some have asked about what we need during our visit. There are many things on our needs list that just involve our family not specifically our ministry (clothes, shoes, vitamins, medicines, doctor visits, FOOD, sunscreen) you get the point. 🙂 Most of these things we buy in bulk to last us until we get back to the states again so the basics can add up. We also have rent to pay in full for a year as soon as Doug returns to Uganda in June. We have booked a hotel room in Anderson for one of the weeks we are there so that we have a central location.
Given these things, if you want to bless our family by helping with any of these items then gift cards or cash would be a great way to do that. Some of our favorite places to eat are Moe’s, Zaxby’s, Subway, Chick-fil-A, Red Lobster, Olive Garden just to name a few. 🙂 Can you tell it has been a while, that list could go for miles?! You could do Walmart, Target, Sams Club, Khols, Academy Sports, or Visa (to be used anywhere). These are all just suggestions for those who have asked or are interested. We truly appreciate all of the prayers and support thus far and hope to see many of you during our visit.
