Field Trip

Well, we have finally gotten all of our books here so this will be the first week of Mission Academy. We started by taking our first field trip this weekend. Not many Children get to start their Homeschooling year with a boat ride to the Source of the Nile River. It was a great trip. We went with the Fish Family and did I mention before how blessed we are to have met this family. God has been so gracious to us through this journey in answering specific prayer request by not only us, but  what some of you have been praying for us also.

We started out Saturday morning with both boys not wanting to go on the boat ride. They both said “But mom, what about alligators and things…..If this boat is little want they try to get in?” I tried to explain that no matter what things we saw……which should not be alligators, but I was not sure what it may be that we would be safe. Reluctantly, they went. We arrived at King Fisher which is a wonderful little place and our boat was waiting. We were on the boat for about 1 1/2 hours.  I might add that after the conversation about animals in the water that may somehow jump into this boat, both boys were hanging over the boat to put their hands in the water. LOL… boys will be boys! We were able to dock and get out at the source. It is actually made into a little island with a few shops and a sitting area. The boys even played in the water some, just putting their feet in and looking at rocks and shells. We saw lots of Monkeys and even a large Monitor Lizard. It was a great trip and both boys now want to do it again. The guide said that sometimes you can see Hippos, but none for us. (Now I guess that could have toppled our boat)!!

When we arrived back at King Fisher, we were able to swim and eat lunch before the rain came and we were on our way home. It was a great start to the weekend and the school year. Please pray for us as we transition into school. We have all had a much longer break than usual with the move and waiting on books, but we are also all excited about getting back to work. We have a house helper coming in this week also. Just M,W,F for a trial period to see how it works out. Thank you all for your prayers and support. God is so good, All the time!
